Michael Stewart says Celtic’s returning manager Brendan Rodgers is ‘top-class’.
In the summer, when Ange Postecoglou, after winning the Treble with Celtic, headed for the exit door to join Spurs, it left some fans surprised by the call to bring Brendan Rodgers back.
The manner in which he first left the club, for Leicester City, didn’t go down well with those at Parkhead.
Therefore, it wasn’t a surprise that his return received a mixed reaction, but with seven wins from eight games, it’s all changing for the good now.
Speaking to Sportscene on BBC Sport, Michael Stewart is in ‘no doubt’ that Celtic are in a ‘good place’ with Brendan Rodgers in the dugout.
And that’s proven by the lead the Bhoys are holding at the top of the table after beating Kilmarnock 3-1 yesterday.

‘Top-class’ Rodgers
“Brendan Rodgers, for me, is a top-class manager,” said Stewart. “Over in his period of time at Celtic Park, this time around, when he starts to bring in the players he will look to bring in as well.
“Then I think Celtic are in a good place. There is no doubt about that, in my mind.”

More trophies to come
One thing that can’t be argued is that Celtic have dominated the domestic scene for many, many years.
Rodgers himself has played a huge part in that, as those across Glasgow, now managerless after sacking Michael Beale, continue to struggle.
Whilst more work needs to be done on the European stage, many inside Celtic are rightfully confident and comfortable that the trophies are just going to roll in with Rodgers at the helm.
