Celtic centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers has revealed that he spoke to ex-Hoops star Timo Weah about life at Parkhead before joining permanently.
Carter-Vickers secured his switch from Tottenham Hotspur after a hugely productive loan spell in which he became a fans-favourite. CCV secured a league and cup double as well as UCL qualification heading into the new season.
Weah, meanwhile, spent a short period at Parkhead on loan from PSG in 2019. It ended prematurely after a disagreement with Neil Lennon, but he also made himself a hero in the eyes of the Celtic fans in his short stint here.

And Carter-Vickers has stated that he spoke to Weah about the Hoops as he stated how much the USA international enjoyed his time in Scotland.
As quoted by the Daily Record, Carter-Vickers said: “We had a little chat about Celtic. He really enjoyed it up here as well. Now he’s off playing in France, but we spoke a little about it.
“He’s a very good guy, me and him actually get on really well. He’s a funny guy.”
Timothy Weah became a fans-favourite just like CCV did
For a player who was only really here for 4 months or so, Weah is still a hugely popular figure amongst the Celtic support. Or, at the very least, a player they remember fondly.
Many will look at his goal record and wonder why. After all, despite being a striker, Timo only managed to score 4 goals in 17 appearances [Transfermarkt]. However, it was more to do with his vibrancy and passion for the club that made him a hugely liked figure.
There was an infectiousness to Weah that we could relate to. He showed such awareness and knowledge of the club and appeared to be really invested in the project. It’s just a shame we were never able to tie him down for the long-term.

These days, the USA international is plying his trade for Lille in Ligue 1. Not to mention he’s a regular for his national team ahead of the World Cup at the end of the year. It wouldn’t surprise you if he made a big impact there.
Hopefully, he’s joined by CCV who will be looking to produce a big spell of performances over the next few months. With the Champions League coming up, it’s all there to be gained for the likes of Cameron.
Don’t be surprised if he’s teaming up with ex-Celt Weah come November.
