Spanish football legend Andres Iniesta has been dishing out heavy praise for new Celtic signing Kyogo Furuhashi again, describing their ‘telepathic’ relationship.

Iniesta forged a close understanding with Furuhashi during their time together at Vissel Kobe. The Japanese forward has credited the Barcelona icon as someone he’s learned from and idolised.

Honestly, from Iniesta’s comments, it sounds like the feeling is mutual. And that’s quite the accolade when you consider who Iniesta has played alongside and what he’s achieved in the game.

His latest comments on the new Bhoy are very promising indeed.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, Iniesta said of Furuhashi: “The thing about Kyogo Furuhashi is that he possesses what I call a football brain. When I was playing with him, I knew I could pass the ball into space without looking and he would be there because he anticipated where I would pass it. And that’s because he knows how to play the game.

“We ended up developing a great understanding on the pitch because I knew where to find him and our relationship in games was almost telepathic. And what’s great about him is that he can finish too. There’s no point in me finding him with a pass if he wastes it. But he doesn’t. He can finish.

“I am so pleased I was his teammate and we had a wonderful understanding on the pitch. Any player as fast as him is a threat and for a midfielder like me, he was a dream because he always seemed to find space. Having a player like him on my side was great for me in Japan and I know he will be a huge success in Europe.”

Get Furuhashi on the Celtic pitch as soon as possible

You don’t really get recommendations better than that in football to be honest. And it raises the hype around Furuhashi to new levels.

The Japanese talent has left his homeland to complete quarantine in the UK. However, he’s already stated his intention to feature for the team in some capacity against Hearts next weekend.

The attacker doesn’t need much of a warm-up period at Celtic. He’s been playing regularly in Japan over the last few months. In fact, he’s been in deliciously red hot form.

He’s good to go and should be unleashed as quickly as possible. I can’t wait to see him in action.
