Greg Taylor is receiving plaudits for his man-of-the-match performance in Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock, with superstar teammate Jota leading the way.

Taylor was at the heart of everything Celtic did right today and was a constant thorn in the side of his old club, hustling them to win the ball back and contributing to attacks.

After the match, Jota was in no mood to mince his words about how important he was, telling Sky Sports how much he is valued by the Celtic dressing room. You can see the clip via this link or embedded below.

The clip at the time of publishing has over 200,000 views, with supporters sharing it far and wide in viral fashion across the internet.

It’s a quality moment and you can actually see how much it means to Taylor, who has come through criticism and adversity at Celtic to truly become a recognised player of value.

Taylor has arguably become the poster boy for what it takes to fit into Ange Postecoglou’s tactical system. He’s embraced the methods from day one, slowly improved and now looks natural in the inverted role.

The Scotland international isn’t a conventional full-back, but he has passing vision, spatial awareness and tenacity. These are all hallmarks of what’s need to shine under Ange. Today was great evidence of it.

It also helps he’s a massive presence in the group, taking on a leadership role in support of captain Callum McGregor.

We’re still very early in the season, of course. Taylor’s aim will be finding consistency across a period of months. But right now, he deserves everything coming his way.

It’s fantastic to see him in the spotlight, even when players such as Jota are banging in 25-year top corner goals.
