Deportivo Maipu manager Juan Sara has insisted that new Celtic signing Alexandro Bernabei will be a big hit in Scotland, believing he is destined to shine at the top of the game.
Sara is something of a Scottish football cult hero after starring for Dundee in the early 2000s and is now a boss in the Argentine second-tier, getting a close-up view of Bernabei’s rise at Lanus.
He is convinced that Bernabei will impress given he possesses all the tools to be a success.

As quoted by The Herald, he said: “Alexandro is a great signing for Celtic. He is a wonderful, modern-day full-back. He will get forward all day long and deliver quality crosses for his teammates. Will he be a success in Scotland? Yes, absolutely. I also believe he will be a big hit in the Champions League.
“I’ve watched a lot of him in the last couple of years and he’s kicked on so much in terms of improvement. So, in my opinion, he is ready to play at the highest level. Everyone in Argentina knows about him. They rave about him because they know he’s destined for the top.
“It’s great to see a young Argentinian player moving to such a massive club like Celtic. The whole country will be behind him and I’m convinced he won’t disappoint anyone.”
Celtic have never signed someone from Argentina before so this is breaking new ground for everyone concerned.
If Bernabei can settle well in Scotland that his talent and playing style suggests he can really fit into Ange Postecoglou’s second-season plans.
In Greg Taylor, he has established competition, but the potential and the price tag of the new signing mean supporters will be eager to see the 21-year-old get a run in the team.
If he’s as good as Sara is hinting at here, we could have a dangerous and exciting new weapon in the team.
