Henrik Larsson hilariously sums up Celtic’s UEFA Cup final defeat with famous Scottish phrase

Henrik Larsson will go down as one of, if not, the greatest players in Celtic history.

The Celtic legend scored over 200 goals for the Hoops and won four league titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups.

Only one trophy eluded Larsson while at Celtic Park: the UEFA Cup.

Martin O’Neill guided the Bhoys to the final of Europe’s second tier competition in 2003, but fell short right at the end after losing 3-2 in extra time to Porto.

It was the closest the Hoops had come to lifting a major European honour for the first time since the Lisbon Lions did in 1967.

Although a bitter pill to swallow even 20 odd years later, Larsson is still able to sum up his disappointment in humorous fashion.

Henrik Larsson reacts to Celtic’s UEFA Cup final heartbreak

Larsson joined another former Celtic star in Charlie Mulgrew on the golf course where they both discussed their experiences.

Mulgrew had to ask the Swedish superstar about the setback, and the former striker had a hilarious response.

He said: “The feeling coming in and doing the warm up and everything was just unbelievable.

“But walking out of there was, as you say in Scotland, s—-.”

Henrik Larsson never disappointed Celtic fans

While Larsson and the rest of the Celtic side from that night in Seville will have regrets that they couldn’t bring the trophy back, there is certainly no negative feeling from supporters.

Every game saw nothing less than maximum effort from the forward, who left the Celtic faithful breathless with some audacious goals and spellbinding trickery.

It’s hard to imagine there ever being a player as good as Larsson was again and he will always be crowned as one of the best.
