Henrik Larsson doesn’t need to do a thing more to ensure he’ll be loved by Celtic supporters forever.
The Swedish scoring sensation spent seven blistering years at Paradise, inspiring a generation of strikers. From his tongue-out, wild-eyed celebrations, his exploits on the biggest stages and love for the club, he’s not just a 90s/00s icon. He’s a Celtic icon.
Now coaching at Barcelona with Ronald Koeman, Larsson is enjoying life after a rough start. On the 18th, he won his first trophy as a coach with Los Culés, the Copa del Rey. 5 points behind league leaders Atlético, with a game in hand, there could be more coming [La Liga].
Yet, the King of Kings still has all the time in the world for Celtic supporters. When the Valencia St Pats CSC got in touch with Henrik Larsson, it was more out of hope than expectation. With Covid rules in place, it became apparent that the Celtic Supporters’ Club wouldn’t get to meet their hero face-to-face. So, Henke left them a personal video message as a consolation.
What a consolation!
Fair play to the King for taking time out to send the club a message. With Barca travelling to the Mestalla soon, we chanced our arm at a meet up but with covid restrictions this was a nice consolation prize. Thanks to Henrik and Barca for the gesture. Hail Hail 🍀 pic.twitter.com/8RIOeLA3w0

Henrik Larsson – a classy man, as well as a Celtic legend
Of course, Celtic fans reacted. We are moths to the light that is Henrik Larsson, no doubt we were going to pick up on any positive Henrik Larsson content.

Again, Henrik Larsson didn’t need to get in touch with anyone. But such is his love for the club and the supporters, he made assurances after Covid that a CSC based in Valencia would get an opportunity to meet the Celtic legend when it was possible to do so.
You just love to see it.
