Scott Brown has admitted that he does not know if Kieran Tierney will be a Celtic player for the foreseeable future.
The left-back has been linked with a move to Arsenal for weeks. However, at the moment he is still a Celtic player. With the English transfer window closing in under a week, the player’s future will become clearer sooner rather than later.
For now though, Brown is as in the dark as everybody else is about the situation.
“Always going to be speculation”
“There is always going to be speculation and if he stays this window to go to the next window” Brown said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“He’s been a phenomenal player for us in the five past seasons, and we’ll just wait and see what happens but here’s hoping he stays.”
The sooner Tierney’s future is sorted the better it will be for all at Celtic. If Arsenal don’t meet Celtic’s valuation, then the player can get on with getting fit after his recent hernia operation.
Celtic could make squad additions with any fee received
Should any bid be accepted, then Celtic would have the chance to make some quality additions to the side.
Naturally Brown is hoping that Tierney stays at Celtic. He has been one of Celtic’s best players since breaking into the team in 2015.
There will no doubt be news on Tierney’s future in the next week. But we know what the Celtic skipper hopes the outcome will be.
