Celtic have a long and illustrious history in the Scottish Cup.
Record holders of world football’s oldest cup competition Celtic have won the Scottish Cup 42 times, more than any other club in Scotland and Brendan Rodgers has the opportunity to add a 43rd at the end of the season.
But for now, St Johnstone awaits Celtic in the semi-final and Rodgers needs to negotiate this fixture before even thinking about lifting the old trophy again.
Just days before the big Hampden fixture, the SFA posted a tribute to Joe Hart with footage of how the former Celtic goalkeeper helped Rodgers negotiate last season’s semi against Aberdeen.

Joe Hart has had several iconic moments at Celtic. The big English goalkeeper won a seven trophies out of nine at Celtic Park but had it not been for what he done against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final, Hart’s trophy count could have been a lot less.
And in another touch of class on Instagram, the SFA posted Unique Angle footage of Hart’s penalty save with the caption, “Joe Hart was the hero for Celtic in last season’s Semi-Finals.”

Joe Hart had an incredible three years at Celtic in which he helped assert the Parkhead club’s dominance over Rangers.
Out of the seven trophies won, Hart’s Scottish Cup win against Rangers in the semi-final of 2023 and the final of 2024 are two particular highlights for the Celtic hero.
