Apparently, Bobby Madden now does his best to help Celtic don’t you know?
Or at least that’s the verdict that many Hibs fans are trying to push after the Hoops netted a penalty at Easter Road on Saturday that sparked a fightback.
Hibs were 2-0 ahead in Saturday’s Premiership clash in Leith when Paul McGinn saw the ball clip off his arm. Madden pointed to the spot and Odsonne Edouard did the business with a thunderous effort. Diego Laxalt then bagged an equaliser in added time to spare Celtic’s blushes.

However, it appears as though the Hibs fans simply can’t take the fact that Madden awarded Celtic a penalty. We’re not really allowed to get them you see or else it’s some sort of big conspiracy to help save 10-in-a-row.
Forget the fact we’ve only had two Premiership penalties in nine games of course. You’ve to also forget the fact that Hibs themselves were given a spot-kick. Madden – the big Celtic fan remember – couldn’t point to the spot quickly enough.
This isn’t anything new for Celtic fans. Whenever we get a decision, regardless of whether it’s a stonewaller, it’s perceived by rival supporters as an unjust decision. A decision made to save the 10 and ensure there isn’t some sort of post-match backlash.

You would think they would be more criticial of their own team’s defending for the final 15 minutes. All that happened was that they caved under the Celtic pressure. Both of Madden’s decisions were justified.

Then again, that wouldn’t make for a good victim story, would it?
Here’s a look at some of the rival fan reaction from the weekend’s stalemate:
Two shocking decisions from Bobby Madden!! Never a penalty and Ryan Porteous was man handled to the ground for the second.
