Celtic fans will be excited for the international break to end as the Bhoys prepare for their top-of-the-table clash with Aberdeen on Saturday, October 19th.
Last weekend, the reigning Scottish Premiership champions recovered from a forgettable night in Dortmund as they retained their place at the league summit at the Global Energy Stadium.
Despite encountering a one-goal deficit, Celtic turned the tide against Ross County as goals from Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kuhn cancelled out Ronan Hale’s opener from the spot.
In hindsight, Brendan Rodgers’ men picked up a pretty important three points in the Highlands, with Aberdeen defeating Hearts in the later kick-off to continue their own positive start.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 7 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 22 | 1 | 21 | 21 | |
| 2 | 7 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 15 | 6 | 9 | 21 | |
| 3 | 7 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 12 | 4 | 8 | 16 | |
| 4 | 7 | 4 | 1 | 2 | 11 | 8 | 3 | 13 |
Setting the scene for an exciting spectacle with plenty of eyes on it across Scotland and further afield, both Celtic and Aberdeen sit on 21 points and have a chance to pull away from one another when they face off in Glasgow’s east end.
While confidence is flowing around the Hoops’ chances of another victory, the Dons will arrive with priorities of their own after the international break concludes and hype for the clash kicks up a notch.
How the Aberdeen camp feel ahead of Celtic tussle
Per The Daily Record, Aberdeen defender Nicky Devlin has shared thoughts from the opposition camp ahead of their challenge against Celtic.
He claimed a beneficial result is the only thing on their mind regardless of the level of performance the Dons put in at Celtic Park in the strictest test of their capabilities yet.
Devlin explained: “We take confidence from the way we started the season and the way we ended the last one. We were unlucky not to win every game after the split because we drew the last game.
“We are in good form and there is a lot of confidence throughout the side. We know we can be better. There have been times where we could’ve been better but we manage to find a way. Listen, we can be rubbish at Celtic Park but if we can find a way then I would take that!”
Celtic know what they need to do when Aberdeen come to town
Aberdeen have made an impressive start this term and credit to them, but clashes where there is heat on to claim a result are usually when Celtic come to life.
Winning 12 out of the last 13 Scottish Premiership titles isn’t something that happens when you don’t have an insatiable hunger to win at a club that transcends managers.

Rodgers’ men have been in scintillating domestic form this term and know what they need to do when Aberdeen come to town. The prospect of Cameron Carter-Vickers potentially returning for Celtic after injury against the Dons would also provide a significant boost.
With excitement already building as the days tick down until kick-off, the Bhoys will be fired up to show why they are Scotland’s team to beat. Hail Hail!
