Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou provided more insight on the move for new striker Hyeongyu Oh today, suggesting the South Korean will be involved in match action as soon as possible.
Oh is the latest winter transfer window arrival and will immediately compete for a spot in the manager’s team alongside Kyogo Furuhashi and, for now, Giorgos Giakoumakis.
There’s lots of excitement around what he can offer the Bhoys and nobody is keener to see him playing for the club than Postecoglou himself.

Speaking in a media conference today, the Celtic manager said [Celtic YouTube]: “We will see how he goes. He has obviously been training and doing pre-season with his club over the last few weeks. Looking at him he is in good physical condition.
“He has not played since November and it has been a big week for him in terms of the travel and the signing process. We will see how he goes but I am keen to get him involved as soon as possible.
“He is still a young guy, he’s only 21 and already you have seen in his game that he has got a real presence about him because of his physicality. He’s a big lad but he moves well and he loves to get involved in all aspects of the game.
“People know I love my strikers who will work hard defensively and he certainly does that. He also adds a real physical presence in that front third in terms of being able to link up and a real presence in the penalty box both aerially and on the ground. I’m just really excited about his potential.
“We do have to remember he is only 21. He’s still relatively inexperienced. At the same time looking at what he has already done in his career and the way he has gone about it and I reckon he will be a quick learner and he can contribute straight away for us.”
Kyogo is likely to get a starting berth away to Dundee United at the weekend but don’t rule out a second-half debut by any means.
With question marks surrounding the future of Giakoumakis, Oh is likely to come in and immediately play that substitute role in place of his Japanese teammate from the 60 to 70 minute in many upcoming matches.
If he can hit the ground running, Celtic fans won’t be shy in raising the hype levels around this transfer.
