Celtic’s squad still needs some serious work, and there isn’t long left until the 2025 summer transfer window slams shut.
Whilst Brendan Rodgers rightfully has had a few moans, and the Celtic supporters, about wanting more added quality via the market.
What shouldn’t be forgotten is what Rodgers has at his disposal right now, including some players who have been forgotten about.
One area that is stacked with players for the Celtic manager is the midfield department, and Gordon Dalziel wanted to question the current status of Paulo Bernardo.
What has happened to Paulo Bernardo at Celtic?
Celtic signed Bernardo for £3.5 million last summer, after his successful and positive loan spell from Benfica.
But Dalziel questioned, what has happened to the midfielder because he thinks Bernardo has ‘fallen out of the sky’, as he told Open Goal.
Paul Slane agreed and called the situation ‘baffling’ because there is a quality player in there.
Gordon Dalziel: “There are all sorts of arguments here, isn’t there. You need players in. Of course you do.
“You have seen the squad the other night there. You have seen what was coming off the bench. Bernardo seems to have fallen out of the sky. I don’t know where he is. I quite like Bernardo.”
Paul Slane also agreed: “That is baffling that.”

Bernardo arrived late for pre-season because he was on international duty with Portugal U21s at the European Championships.
But he came back earlier than Alistair Johnston, who was thrust straight back into the starting XI, yet Bernardo has only played 71 minutes this term.
Bernardo was out of action for several weeks last season, but his game time was still limited, and the question of ‘why?’ should be put forward to Rodgers.
