One of the biggest transfer rumours of 2024 has been about whether or not Kieran Tierney will leave Arsenal to join Celtic in the January transfer window.

Speculation about Tierney’s future has been rife ever since Arsenal refused to take up the option to extend the former Celtic man’s contract.

Tierney’s contract expires at the end of this season and with the Scotland fullback free to talk to clubs at the beginning of January, that has led to speculation that a return to Paradise could happen in the coming weeks.

Kieran Tierney ‘would’ leave Arsenal to join Celtic

Scottish football presenter and pundit, Darrell Currie was speaking about the potential for Kieran Tierney to come back to Celtic when he admitted that the 27-year-old would be up for the move.

Currie told The Scottish Football Social Club [10m 53s], “He would be [up for Celtic return]. I know Kieran well and I’ve spoken to him quite a bit down the years and the number of times he mentions wanting to go back at some point in his career.

“It just feels like the stars are aligning a bit here.”

What has been said about Kieran Tierney making an Arsenal exit to Celtic

This has probably been the most talked about potential Celtic transfer of the last few months now and everybody seems to have a say on it.

First off, the Tierney talk has Arsenal and Celtic fans at a crossroads with the Gunners supporters gutted that he could leave with the Parkhead support worried about about his injury history.

Celtic defender Anthony Ralston would welcome a Tierney return as he labelled the Arsenal defender a ‘terrific player’.

Brendan Rodgers also had his say on Tierney as the Celtic boss issued a coy response to the rumours but didn’t completely shut them down.

Whatever happens over the next few weeks it seems that this is a story that is not going to go away for the Celtic supporters.
