The Celtic fans have been out in force expressing their love for Ismaila Soro after his class post-match interview yesterday.

The enthusiastic midfielder looked like the happiest man in Scotland last night. Celtic cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Hamilton Accies, but the gap at the top of the table remains 23x points.

Even so, last night secured us our first win of 2021. It ended a dismal four-game winless streak in domestic football, and Soro was central to it with another classy display in the middle of the park.

The Ivorian has made that spot his own now, with Neil Lenon singling him out for praise post-match. Lennon told the BBC’s Sportsound show that Soro was “very, very good”. And the Celtic fans won’t disagree with that either.

Celtic fans just can’t hide their love for Ismaila Soro after infectious interview

You can perhaps question the logic in bringing in a player who clearly struggles with the language forward for a post-match interview. But in fairness to Soro, he answered superly. Speaking to the club’s in-house media team, he said the following:

“I’m very happy with the game. I’m very happy because I worked in training very hard. And I’m very happy for the man-of-the-match. Thank you for everything. Thank you very much.

“It’s possible to win the next game. We want to focus on the next game and take it step-by-step, game-by-game.”

And he was a classy operator in the middle of the park once again. Stat-tracking experts WhoScored gave him a superb 8.18/10 ranking for his performance against Accies. This included an incredible passing accuracy of 95.7% – the highest of every outfield player in the starting XI. Considering he also operates as a defensive midfielder, that’s an unbelievable figure.

The former Bnei Yehuda man continues to take on plenty of responsibility in this Celtic side. He comes across as delighted and grateful for the opportunity, and you can’t not love that about him.

In any case, the supporters are continuing to show their affection for him, and reacted to his interview with an overwhelming level of love:

In other news, Pat Bonner wasn’t happy with this Celtic decision last night.
