Celtic showed a ‘touch of class’ yesterday in congratulating defender Kieran Tierney after he won the FA Cup with Arsenal.

The Gunners beat Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley, winning their first bit of silverware under manager Mikel Arteta.

As we know, Tierney is well used to trophy triumphs and this latest medal is added to a growing collection.

The boyhood Celtic fan was a massive part of our success over the last five years.

Despite his transfer not going down well with some Celtic fans, there was also a lot of love for the left-back from supporters yesterday, with many taking to social media to congratulate him on success at his new club.

The champions led the charge after full-time, sending a tweet that was quickly responded to by the man himself.

As a supporter, I would obviously much prefer to see Tierney still wearing green and white but having made his choice, it’s brilliant to see the 23-year-old achieve more in the game.

I can’t be bitter seeing him give his all and attempting to better himself at the highest level, especially since he’s shown nothing but good grace to Celtic since leaving the club.

Arsenal fans, like Tierney, were also loving Celtic’s post-final message, feeling that the club had outdone themselves with the show of support.

You can choose to be cynical about very public friendliness in football but I also enjoyed seeing the club get a bit of credit for treating the former Hoops defender with a lot of respect.

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on what Celtic had to say before and after the final…
