Hyengyu Oh is thriving since his summer transfer exit from Celtic.
The South Korean striker joined Belgian Pro League side Genk from Celtic after spending much of his time on the Parkhead bench.
With over 30 appearances and 12 goals for Genk, Oh has also earned two caps for South Korea since he decided to continue his career away from Celtic.
However, sitting nicely at the top of the league after scoring a double at the weekend, Hyeongyu Oh has taken the time to send a message to a former Celtic teammate after recognising how he has overcome his struggles at Paradise.

Hyeongyu Oh is ‘proud’ of Hyunjun Yang at Celtic
Hyunjun Yang has been enjoying a purple patch of decent form as an impact player at Celtic.
Recognising the difference the winger is making from the Hoops bench, Oh has senf him a class message recognising how he has overcome his struggles at Celtic.
Oh told the Daily Record: “I’m proud. I lived with Hyunjun Yang at Celtic. I know how hard it has been.
“It won’t be easy. However, he overcame all this and showed competitiveness. I’m very proud.
“I really want to say to Hyunjun, ‘You’re doing a good job.'”
Hyunjun Yang’s impressive Celtic stats
Yang has frustrated Celtic supporters ever since he joined the club in 2023.
But it seems that this season, under Brendan Rodgers, the Hoops winger has found a new lease of life so here are the stats from Yang’s two seasons at Celtic so far
| Hyunjun Yang’s Celtic stats | Played | Goals | Assists | Minutes on the park |
| Season 2023/24 | 31 | 1 | 3 | 1278 |
| Season 2024/25 | 29 | 5 | 6 | 1081 |
So with fewer minutes on the park, Yang has made a significantly bigger impact this season than last and is showing Celtic fans that maybe, just maybe, Rodgers is turning him into a player at the club.
