Reo Hatate’s engine is seriously starting to warm up now as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic continue to dominate at the top of the Premiership table.

It may have been a quiet opening from the 25-year-old at the start of the campaign, as he sorted out his future, but since signing a new long-term contract at Celtic, he has just got better and better.

That was proven by Reo Hatate’s performance as the Bhoys saw past Kilmarnock 3-1 over the weekend, with John Hartson claiming that he is a ‘wonderful’ player.

That included a stunning solo goal to open the scoring, that’s his second strike in as many weeks.

But what the Celtic fans will love to hear is that the club’s legendary striker thinks that the Parkhead faithful still haven’t seen the best out of their star midfielder, as he told Go Radio.

And if that’s the case, then it will only elevate the team further, as Reo Hatate is already being backed to get nominated for Player of the Year again.

Reo Hatate will get better and better

“I think, game by game, he is getting stronger,” said Hartson. “He looks as if he is getting more comfortable within that role where he plays.

“Remember he is under a new manager this season as well. But he is a wonderful player.

“We get him back fit, then he is a huge player for Celtic. But he is getting fitter and fitter. Better and better. I still don’t think we have seen the best of him yet.

“As I said, it’s a great sign for the fans. Great for Brendan. When he is fit, he is an outstanding midfield player. Gets forward. He can pass the ball really well. He is a goal threat, which we saw at the weekend.”

Looking good heading into the international break

Seven wins out of eight in the league. Another strong start by Rodgers. New faces, such as Luis Palma, looking good. And current stars, such as Matt O’Riley and Greg Taylor, taking their game to the next level.

Added to that, beating Rangers at Ibrox when the team was weakened is another big plus.

As a result, the lead at the top is eight points and given that it feels like the team has another few levels to go yet, then there is a lot more good to come.
