Read More'I totally ruined them'; Celtic hero John Hartson hammers rivals
Former Celtic striker John Hartson has sent out an incendiary tweet today that has got supporters talking in the build-up to Wednesday night’s derby vs Rangers.
The former Welsh international has referenced the situation that involved him failing a medical at Ibrox, before signing for Celtic a year later in 2001.
Hartson went on to score over 100 goals for the Bhoys including eight against Rangers on derby days.
The pundit said on Twitter today: “I totally ruined Rangers single-handedly. Insider told me it’s the worst mistake they have ever done. Four winning goals in derbies. Eight in total, should have been ten! Signed Flo instead for “12m we all know how well he did for them.”
The post seems to have been prompted by a Chris Sutton Tweet earlier in the day, who suggested Rangers fans shouldn’t get too excited about any potential signings before they complete a medical.
It comes as Rangers get set to sign another Welshman with a history of injury problems – Aaron Ramsey – according to Monday reports.

Hartson has never made any secret of his dislike for the Ibrox club, not only because of failing his medical but also eventually due to his long association with Celtic.
He’s a regular champion of the Bhoys in the media, especially in recent seasons. He has rarely gone down the route of criticising the club for the sake of it, in stark contrast to some former players.
