Greg Taylor has heavily praised the efforts of Cameron Carter-Vickers at Celtic this season, revealing he’s a player to avoid in training.

Carter-Vickers is on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur. His long-term future at the Bhoys is uncertain despite the club holding an option-to-buy.

Nonetheless, he’s excelled throughout the campaign and has been a key driver of the Bhoys’ excellent defensive record in the Scottish Premiership.

Taylor has shared he’s a quiet soul, but takes no prisoners when playing – even at Lennoxtown.

Speaking to The Scotsman, he said: “He’s even quieter than the gaffer. He’s been outstanding on the pitch, while away from it he’s really quiet.

“I try to steer clear of him in training, mind you. He’s some size and he’s quick as well. He’s got all the tools and he’s used them this year. He goes about his business, he trains and works hard. He’s not a shouter and bawler, he just goes about his business quietly.

“I do know he’s absolutely desperate to do well here. He’s desperate to win. You can tell. He takes huge pride in not conceding a goal. If he does, he’s so determined it doesn’t happen again. He and Carl have been a huge part of the reason we’ve been successful so far this season.”

Carter-Vickers would be a valuable acquisition for Celtic so hopefully the club can sort out a permanent contract.

With reports that multiple teams in England are keen on his services, including Leicester City, that may be easier said than done.

All that matters right now though is the final eight games of the league season and our Scottish Cup bid. I expect the defender will be a crucial player in every single one.
