Ian Wright has suggested Ange Postecoglou should have enjoyed a longer break away from football rather than jumping straight back in with Nottingham Forest.
The former Celtic manager won the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur in May after beating Manchester United in the final.
But chairman Daniel Levy sacked him, leaving the Aussie-Greek with a free summer to take stock and consider his options.
Forest started the current Premier League season poorly, with owner Evangelos Marinakis firing Nuno Espirito Santo after just a handful of games.
Postecoglou became Nuno’s replacement in September, but he lasted less than 40 days in the job having not won any of his eight matches in charge.
Ange’s last game was against Chelsea last Saturday lunchtime as he watched his Forest side perform well, but ultimately lose 3-0.
He was brutally sacked 18 minutes after the full-time whistle.

Wright questions Ange Postecoglou’s move to Nottingham Forest
And former Celtic striker Wright feels Ange made a hasty call to accept the Forest position, especially to work under the impulsive Marinakis.
Speaking on The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, Wright said: “Even with Ange getting that job, with the way Nuno went out of that job, surely Ange must have been on his toes there.
“Wouldn’t you say to yourself: ‘You know something, I’m going to have a little break, this is too quick.’ Especially going into such a chaotic owner’s club?”
Celtic next for Postecoglou?
Surely now is the time for Ange to relax and take the rest of the season off, unless he is desperate to get back in again?
If he was to take an extended break, it could open the door for a Celtic return in 2026 when Brendan Rodgers’ contract at Parkhead expires.
That would be an extremely popular choice among the Hoops fanbase and would certainly earn the under-fire board some credit.
Rodgers is very likely to leave next summer, but will Ange be in or out of work?
