Celtic may need to sell one of their players, if reported comments that he said turn out to be true.

Olivier Ntcham reportedly told L’Equipe, as cited by the Daily Record, that it would be better for him if he left Celtic this summer, as it would help him develop as a player.

“Celtic has given me a lot, but it’s the best solution for my development” he said.

Ntcham also expressed his disappointment at not moving to Porto last summer, and expressed an interest in joining Marseille.

“I was really disappointed not to have gone”

“I was really disappointed not to have gone to Porto last summer. The interest of the Marseille? It is flattering. It is a very big club with very big support.”

Those comments should indicate that there is no way back for the player at Celtic. If he is so desperate to leave, then there is no point in keeping him at the club.

Manager unlikely to be happy with comments

Neil Lennon won’t be too happy with Ntcham’s comments, and you can’t imagine that his team-mates will be that impressed either.

If Celtic get an acceptable bid for the player,  you would imagine that Ntcham will be sold. It won’t do anyone any good to keep a player who seems desperate to leave.

Ntcham has been a decent player for the Hoops in his time at the club. But now it looks only a matter of time before he moves to pastures new.
