Former Celtic prospect Jack Aitchison has made his return to Scottish football by signing for Motherwell and admits he still thinks about his goal for the Bhoys every day.
Aitchison became Celtic’s youngest-ever goalscorer back in May 2016, scoring against the Steelmen in a 7-0 rout aged just 16 years and 71 days.
Now 22, the attacker is set to embark on a new phase of his career after a spell in England with Barnsley that included loans at Stevenage and Forest Green Rovers. But Celtic is undoubtedly still on his mind.

Jack Aitchison still dreams of Celtic
As quoted by The Daily Record, he said: “I came on and scored with my first touch and it’s hard not to think about that moment every single day! It felt as good as having a winner’s medal. Unfortunately, I felt I never really got the chance to show what I could do after that but everything happens for a reason and who knows? I’ll maybe play for them again.
“I had the likes of Moussa Dembele, Odsonne Edouard, Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths ahead of me in the pecking order. It was tough to leave because it’s such a big club and I could have stayed but I wanted to make a career for myself so I took the chance when it came.
“Anyway, if I can get a goal at Pittodrie for Motherwell it could prove to be a lot more important than that goal against them was. That would be amazing so fingers crossed.”
Aitchison was handed an immediate start for Motherwell against St Johnstone midweek and is back in the team again today for the trip to Pittodrie.
We’ll all be wishing him well in the Scottish Premiership as he looks to hit the regular goalscoring trail. If he does that, who knows, he might be worth keeping an eye on.
In other news, Ange Postecoglou’s Jota comments bode well for Celtic.
