Celtic attacker Ryan Christie has started the season in blistering form. He has scored three goals already, including a double in the recent 5-0 win over Nomme Kalju.

Therefore, you expect the player to be desperate to play in every game at the moment. However, Christie has admitted that he won’t complain if he is left out of Tuesday’s second leg against Nomme Kalju.

With the tie practically won, Neil Lennon may make plenty of changes for the fixture. Christie will understand if he is left out, especially as he is on the verge of a suspension.

“I’ll understand it if I’m left out for my benefit” Christie said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

If I picked up another booking I’d be suspended. But I just want to play and, after the injuries I’ve had, long may it continue.”

The threat of a possible suspension for the next round of the Champions League fixtures should make up Neil Lennon’s mind to leave Christie out of the team that will travel to Estonia.

A real blow if player was suspended

It would be a real blow to the Hoops if Christie missed a game due to suspension. That is how important he has been to the Hoops so far this season.

The team that selected on the day is more than capable of easing the Hoops through to the next round. That team should not include Christie.
