“Not sure the Japanese boys like it”; Callum McGregor’s amusing take on Celtic pre-match tunes

Callum McGregor has been speaking about the music that he and his Celtic team-mates listen to in the lead-up to matches.

Okay, it may not be the most earth-shattering story we’ve ever covered, but it’s still an interesting insight in to life as a Celtic player.

The Hoops have been near faultless all season long and could secure yet another treble tomorrow afternoon against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Supporters around the world will be getting themselves up for the game with some tunes and it appears the players will be doing likewise.

“We’ve actually got the same playlist that we’ve played for about six or seven years,” McGregor explained in a Celtic YouTube video.

“A bit of dance music, trying to get the boys up for it.

“I’m not sure the Japanese boys like it. But it seems to work for the British-based boys.”

So the likes of Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair would have listened to the same playlist as Jota and Alistair Johnston? Funny that.

It’s a pre-match ritual that seems to work for the team, even if some of our Japanese players prefer a more peaceful time.

We regularly fly out of the traps and net first-half goals, often in big games.

An early goal tomorrow would be wonderful and allow the Celtic support to really dream of another treble.

With the pre-match tunes blasting and Ange Postecoglou’s stirring words in their ears, the players should be raring to go.

In other news, McGregor has also been talking about the ground he wants Celtic to visit in the Champions League
