Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has insisted that Ange Postecoglou’s side can provide Real Madrid with a shock in the Champions League tomorrow evening.
Tuesday night will mark the Bhoys’ return to the world-famous competition, and you couldn’t have asked for a much tougher fixture to come back to.
After being drawn alongside Real Madrid in Group F, the Hoops will face the holders of the competition in matchday one of the 2022/23 Champions League campaign.

Despite the difficult task that awaits Celtic, the majority of fans have been left excited to see the Spanish giants travel to Parkhead.
And anticipation has continued to build as another potentially special night at Paradise awaits tomorrow.
Ange Postecoglou and his players have made an incredible start to the new season and look to be on red hot form heading in to face Real.
The Celtic manager isn’t expected to change his attacking system for any game, and that will be no different for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who will be going up against a confident Hoops team.
Ahead of tomorrow’s game, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has insisted that the Bhoys have what it takes to provide Real Madrid with a bloody nose.
Sutton backed Postecoglou, stating that the former Socceroos boss should stick to his guns and attack the game in an attempt to take something from the 14-time winners of this competition.
He said [Daily Record]: “Ange Postecoglou is a pure footballing coach, and his high-risk approach won’t be out of place in the Champions League.

“The Celtic manager is determined to do it his way, and why shouldn’t he? Has he not earned the right to do so? And, anyway, it makes no sense for a manager to coach players for an entire season to play one way and then ask them to rip it up and do something the opposite on the biggest stage of the lot.
“Celtic build from the back, they take risks. It’s the same approach as Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. Obviously, Guardiola has a higher standard of player at his disposal, but this young team of Postecoglou’s are having great success with it, and I fully believe they can give Real Madrid a bloody nose by going at it in this manner.
“I’ve got to say, this Celtic team under Postecoglou are a great watch. They are so fast, and fluid and some of the football is a joy.
“I’m well aware there’s more than one way to get the job done. I recall Neil Lennon’s team beating Barcelona a decade ago with barely any possession. That was a hang-in-the-game backs-to-the-wall job.
“Postecoglou won’t be doing that. He’s said as much. Celtic have every right to have a go at the European champions tomorrow night and they’ll be confident about it after the way they steamrollered Rangers.”
He continued: “Real might be better than Celtic, but they can’t coast. They can’t turn up and stroll around. Celtic will outrun them, I’m sure.
“If Postecoglou’s team gets it wrong, they could be open to being picked off at will. If they get it right, however, they can engineer a famous win.
“It’s high risk for ultimate reward. And it’s going to be an incredible watch.”

Fully firing Celts will have belief in producing Real Madrid shock.
There is absolutely no doubting how hard a task tomorrow night’s game is going to be. Real Madrid will be travelling to Glasgow, full of confidence as the holders of this competition and has also made a strong start to the season.
However, that isn’t something that Ange Postecoglou and his players are going to fear.
The 57-year-old has created an incredible mentality within his squad, and they are ready for the task at hand, knowing the roles they need to play if they hope to get something out of this game.
Ange has already stated that he won’t change the way his side plays for no team. Some might think that shouldn’t be the case, but as Sutton states, he has more than earned the right to showcase his beliefs.
It is an extremely exciting time to be a Celtic supporter, and with just over 24 hours until our Champions League campaign gets underway, I cannot wait for potentially another special night at Paradise.
