Celtic haven’t had their problems to seek at left-back recently. Both Kieran Tierney and recent arrival Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo are injured at the moment.

That leaves Jonny Hayes as the only left-back that is not injured in the squad at the moment. However, other’s misfortune could lead to an opportunity for a player whose Celtic career looked to be over. That player is Calvin Miller.

Miller has been so out of the picture at Celtic recently that last season he was on loan at two clubs – Dundee in the first-half of the season, and Ayr in the second.

However, he could now be back in the fold due to the injury crisis. Miller has played left-back for Celtic in most of his first-team appearances.

Therefore, he might well be in Neil Lennon’s thoughts until Tierney and Mbombo get fit.

Intriguing to see if player features in friendly

It will be intriguing to see if Miller is involved at any stage of the Hoops’ friendly against Rennes on Saturday.

Should take part in the game at left-back, he could well be involved in the second leg of the Champions League qualifier against Sarajevo.

It might not be an ideal situation for the Hoops at the moment. However, needs must at this early stage of the season. If Miller manages to get some games under his belt then all the better for the player and the club.
