Eboue Kouassi could be miles off returning from injury in a Celtic jersey.
Manager Neil Lennon didn’t mention the Ivorian when listing injured players at the club.
Other crocks including Mikey Johnston, Maryan Shved, Vakoun Bayo and Boli Bolingoli got a say.
Could it be Kouassi isn’t in the Irishman’s plans at all or could he have been innocently forgotten?
When will Kouassi Eboue come back to Celtic?
The jury is still out on the Ivory Coast under-23 international midfielder.
His brief spell last season will have won him a lot of early doubters.
The slick maestro got injured in a cup semi-final against Hearts at Murrayfield in a cruciate ligament injury.
Brave Kouassi even attempted to play on but was hooked for his own safety by Brendan Rodgers. Since then, he has been on the treatment table with no return date set.
However, teammate Daniel Arzani who suffered a similar blow is back in training.
With the club’s mounting midfielders, perhaps there just isn’t space for Kouassi in the team.
Nevertheless, he should be given a chance under a different manager in Lennon.
The 21-year-old clearly has some raw talent which the Hoops can get from him.
The board and fans don’t want another £3 million down the drain.
Eboue Kouassi loan option to prove worth
In any event, Lennon shouldn’t allow Kouassi to leave Scottish football in a hurry.
If needs be a loan to a top six club in the Premiership will allow the midfielder to show his worth.
Kilmarnock or Aberdeen will be ideal clubs as they are known for progressing top talent.
Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie have both come through there in recent years.
The potential is there any he is still young. The club shouldn’t throw the chance away as Kouassi will develop into a fantastic player.
