The man-of-the-match award may have went to David Turnbull last night, but Celtic teammate Ismaila Soro may be raising an eyebrow.
For me it was a toss-up between the two of them. The fans were absolutely blown away by another Turnbull goalscoring display. However, once again, Soro was simply bossing it for Celtic all over the midfield.
Ross County just couldn’t cope with him. When they last came to Parkhead in the Betfred Cup they had time and space on the ball. Soro isn’t giving anyone that. It’s the main reason Lille got so messy with their possession in Glasgow too. Soro doesn’t give you a moment.
But he’s proving to be anything but just a terrier who can run about the place. The Ivorian looks a fine footballer and is happy to play ambitious passes too. Some of the through balls he’s produced has been fantastic over the last several weeks.
He ended the match with a superb 90.2% passing accuracy. As well as that he had 95 touches of the ball according to stat-trackers WhoScored. That’s incredible stuff from the Celtic man. That shows he does a lot more than just win it back.
Celtic need Soro in there vs Rangers
With Ibrox looming, we desperately need someone to boss Glen Kamara. For me, the Rangers man has had far too much joy jinking around our midfield in recent games. He hasn’t been harried anywhere near enough, with not enough tackles put into him.
Soro is the man to do just that. Rangers will likely look for midfield combinations and use the likes of Kamara and Arfield to try and get around us. But let’s be honest, this normally happens because Scott Brown is slowing up. The Celtic captain can’t bring himself to produce those tenacious displays anymore.
It’s not just one game from Soro now either. This isn’t just a knee-jerk reaction to one half-decent match. This is now a run of form that he’s building up, and it’s becoming more and more impressive.

He has to start on Saturday at Hamilton just as he has to start at Ibrox. He deserves nothing less for his recent run, and he looks like just the man to be our ball-winner in Govan.
The supporters were certainly impressed with him once again too. Here’s a look at their reaction to his performance last night:
