Celtic target Ismaila Soro has reportedly started following the club on Instagram amid speculation over his future.

According to the Daily Record, Soro has only just started following the club on the social media platform. He is also now following Hoops striker Vakoun Bayo too.

This comes after Dudu Dahan today posted an image of him and his client on his Instagram story. The Record have also stated that fans are speculating that the image has come from Celtic’s training base in Dubai.

This all comes only days after Genk had reportedly launched an offer in for the defensive midfielder (Daily Record).

Neil Lennon apparently confirmed before the window opened that Soro was indeed a target for Celtic. The Record reported after the win at St Mirren on Boxing Day that the manager had confirmed our interest in him.

In terms of a fee for Soro, the Scottish Sun believe that his club, Bnei Yehuda, values him at £3million. It would be tough to give a move like this the go-ahead given the fact that Soro is untested at a higher level.

Could Soro succeed where his countrymen have failed?

In the past, we’ve seen Ivorians such as Eboue Kouassi and Vakoun Bayo struggle with the step-up to Celtic. Soro would hope not to follow in the footsteps of his countrymen and be a bit-part man.

Another interesting dynamic is what a move for Soro would do to potential other midfield targets such as Victor Wanyama. Remember, Lennon stated he would like to bring big Vic to Parkhead if possible (Daily Record). Would a move for Soro potentially boot that out the door?

In any case, it remains to be seen whether Soro is indeed in Dubai or not. Dahan was the agent who brokered deals at Parkhead for the likes of Beram Kayal, Efe Ambrose, and Nir Bitton respectively. It would hardly be a surprise if he brought Soro to Glasgow too. Hatem Abd Elhamed was his latest client to join Parkhead.

It’s setting up to be an interesting few days to say the least.
