Josip Juranovic has delivered the highest possible praise for Celtic teammate Tom Rogic, describing him as one of the best players he’s ever played with.

Rogic was on target for the Bhoys against Motherwell on Sunday, rattling home an effort from a well-worked free-kick to deliver a 1-0 victory. It was his fifth goal against the Steelmen in 18 appearances, having also registered five assists.

Juranovic loves the Australian so much that he always make sure that he is on the same side as him in training at Lennoxtown.

Josip Juranovic gives Celtic teammate ultimate praise

Giving brilliant comments to The Scottish Daily Mail [13/12 print edition, page 67], the Croatian said: “For me, he is little Messi! He’s a bit taller than the original but there’s only one big Messi, he can be the little one!

“He’s so good. He’s one of the best players I have played with at club level. He’s in top form this season and that can only be good for us. We see it in training but I always make sure he’s in my team. He knows how to pick the sides.

“You look at his technique. He’s so tall but it’s unbelievable. He’s the main man for us. I didn’t know too much about him before I came here. I knew he’d been here a long time but I was wondering why because he was so good.”

Rogic has been reborn under Ange Postecoglou. This time last year he looked done at Celtic. Nobody would have been surprised if he moved on to pastures new.

However, using a connection from their time with the Australian national team, Postecoglou has managed to get the best out of his compatriot.

When he was injured a few weeks ago his absence was painfully felt. If we can keep him fit between now and the upcoming derby on January 2nd, we’ll have a real shot of maintaining this winning run.
