Celtic midfielder Ewan Henderson knows this year at the Bhoys is a new huge one for him personally, as well as the club.
Ange Postecoglou’s arrival has sparked a period of serious transition as Celtic look to bounce back from a dire 2020/21 season.
Henderson is one of the young players who could be given new opportunities by the Greek-Australian.
First introduced by Brendan Rodgers back in 2018, the 21-year-old has gone on to make 11 appearances for the club. Along the way he’s spent time out on loan at Ross County and Dunfermline Athletic.
Now he has nothing but impressing at Celtic on his mind, with less than 12 months left on his current contract.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun, he said: “It’s been very good to get games under my belt. Obviously, pre-season’s about playing games and getting your fitness up and everyone’s had that. I think we’ve played very well in the matches.
“It is the final year of my contract, but it’s a big year for everyone. Obviously, there’s a new manager and there are opportunities for everyone here. I’ll just keep my head down, keep working hard and we’ll see what happens.
“I’ve a year left and I’ve got to push as hard as I can to try and get into the team and stay in it. You’ve obviously got to have confidence in yourself. I’m playing at a massive club and I’ve been at Celtic since I was a young age. I know what it takes to play for Celtic.”

Make or break for Ewan Henderson at Celtic
Henderson was once a talent Celtic fans had high hopes for. Some of his initial appearances as an attacking midfielder were very promising.
There’s less hype around him now. However, that’s not really a bad thing. Sometimes expectancy can be a hindrance and Henderson will just be hoping his day-to-day work at Lennoxtown catches the eye of the manager.
Like his brother Liam before him, his long-term future in Glasgow is unclear. However, he still has a chance to make it as a regular at Celtic, especially with a new manager in the door.
