Celtic defender Jack Hendry has taken to Instagram to show his delight at being back out on the pitch for the Hoops.
The central-defender may only have played the final 12 minutes of the midweek win over Partick Thistle, but it will have seemed a lot longer for the 24-year-old. Hendry last appeared for the Hoops in Brendan Rodgers’ final game in charge, back in late February.

And the former Dundee man showed his appreciation on the social media site by posting a message late on Wednesday after the game.
Hendry said: “Good to be back out there with the lads tonight after a frustrating few months with injury. Great result and into the semis.”

Will Hendry now be given another chance to impress?
Hendry wasn’t the only long-term outcast to be given a chance in the Betfred Cup tie. Scott Sinclair, who had missed the previous nine games, also got a run out and marked it with a goal.
It will be interesting to see if either Hendry or Sinclair are now given a chance in the coming months. Both have endured frustrating times over the past few months but may still have something to offer in a new set-up.

Hendry has had a really tough time since signing for the club 18 months ago. He’s made several high profile errors and been written off by the vast majority of the Celtic support. However, he also wasn’t helped by his former manager Rodgers.
The Northern Irishman continually put Hendry into awkward situations – like all six of our Champions League qualifiers and the odd Europa League group stage clash too. You could argue that a good player would have handled the situation better than Hendry, but he certainly wasn’t helped out like others have been.
Hopefully he can put all that behind him now and give Neil Lennon another solid defensive option.
