Jackie McNamara believes that Martin O’Neill was exactly what Celtic needed to recover their season.
It has been a drastic turnaround since O’Neill came back to Celtic on an interim basis following Brendan Rodgers’ resignation.
The 73-year-old has won all but one of his games in charge and is set to take to the dugout for one final time against Dundee on Wednesday.
His last victory was a 2-1 win against Hibernian, and former Hoops defender McNamara thinks that the managerial change has saved the club’s season.

He said: “You see the fans at the game, how they take to him.
Think you know who this is?
Before the game, he’s doing the media, you want to listen to him. And as a player in his dressing room, it was the same. You hung on his words, you would capture him when you come into the changing room, how he put you across, made you feel fantastic.
“And that’s what these players have been needing.”
