When it comes to the position of left-back, Scotland is fortunate enough to have two very good players in that position. Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.

Celtic’s James Forrest, who has played with both players for Scotland, feels that there is not much to choose between the players and that Tierney is as good as the recent Champions League winner.

“There’s nothing between him and Andy Robertson” Forrest said, as reported by the Herald.

“Two great players”

“They are two great players for Scotland. Even though they play in the same position, they are slightly different with the way they play.”

Injuries to Tierney have slowed the player down in the last season, but on his day he is as good as the Liverpool player.

Will Tierney follow Robertson to England?

Of course, Robertson moved from England to Scotland to further his career. It remains to be seen if Tierney will do that.

Arsenal are reportedly set to launch a second bid for the player, of £19 million. You would imagine that bid would be turned down by the Hoops.

However, if a team reach the Hoops’ asking price, Celtic and the player would have a big decision to make.

Would Tierney improve as a player if he followed Robertson to England? Possibly, but all at Celtic would like him to stay at the club for a bit longer.
