Camilo Duran is already making himself known to the Celtic supporters.
Celtic’s new striker signing has bagged in both of his pre-season matches and is getting the supporters excited about what is to come.
When Duran signed for Celtic and did his normal media duties, including speaking to the club’s official channel, he spoke in his native tongue of Spanish.
James Forrest has shared that the new kid on the block needs a translator to help him out, and that’s where Paulo Bernardo steps in, as posted by CelticPlayer.

Camilo Duran and Paulo Bernardo have already struck a ‘close’ relationship
Reporter: “You have seen other players coming in. Mentality is a big thing. I know he doesn’t speak English. Can you see that he has something about him that way as well? That he can handle things for a club like this?”
Forrest: “Oh, definitely. Like Paulo Bernardo has been close with him since he came in. Translating. Helping him settle in, which I think is always good for the foreign players.
“As I said, we have got a good changing room, and there are always foreign boys coming in as well, so I think it’s important that the boys that are there make any player feel comfortable. That’s when players play their best and enjoy it as well.
“It’s been a good start, and hopefully he can kick on from here.”
The unseen actions that are very vital
Bernardo was hardly used last season, and many are wondering whether or not he will still be at the club by the end of the 2026 summer transfer window.
But while the fans hardly see him on the pitch anymore, it’s great to see that he is still making a vital contribution off the pitch.
Given that Duran doesn’t speak English and will need quite a few months to settle into life in Glasgow, sometimes it’s the unseen actions of people like Bernardo that are most vital.
Of course, Celtic themselves will be doing everything they can so their new striker can settle in as quickly as possible.
But judging by what he has produced in pre-season so far, there is a lot to be excited about.
Yes, Celtic don’t help themselves by how they go about their transfer business, but if Duran starts to bang in the goals, then he could be the one to quickly change a frosty mood around Parkhead.
