A popular terrace song from the past couple of seasons returned to Celtic Park on Wednesday – and it featured a James Forrest twist.
The winger – who netted the second goal in our 2-0 win over St. Mirren – will have been overjoyed to hear many around the Parkhead bowl belt his name out to a familiar tune.
“This is how it feels to be Celtic, champions again as you know, Jamesy Forrest’s here for ten-in-a-row”

It’s been a while since the song was heard in the East End of Glasgow. It was popular during the days of Brendan Rodgers, with the Northern Irishman’s name included in its lyrics.
His departure in February hurt many and the song was scrapped. Until now.

Forrest is deserving of a Celtic song
The change in song lyrics is a bit of a metaphor for how Celtic have moved forward since Rodgers’ betrayal. Our former boss walked out on us at a crucial point last season, and it hurt a lot. But now we’ve moved on and have more titles firmly in our sight.
Forrest’s new four-year contract will tie him to the club until 2023. So he could actually be here for 12-in-a-row. But for now we’ll settle for the ten, and we’ll settle for having a true Celtic man helping us there.

It’s great to hear the humble winger’s name being belted out around Celtic Park. Forrest is about as loyal a Celtic man as they come nowadays. He’s been with us through the thick and thin, both personally and as a team.
Now his popularity is growing with every passing match.
