James Forrest is on the cusp of immortality at Celtic.
The Hoops legend is on the brink of becoming Celtic’s most decorated player of all time and will surpass Booby Lennox’s total of 25 major honours when the league title is wrapped up in the coming weeks.
As it stands, Forrest is on a level pegging with the Lisbon Lions icon and after Celtic’s title party was delayed by a few weeks, the winger is on course to collect his 26th winners medal.
However, Celtic’s stuttering form has been the major cause of the party delay as Forrest hits back at what he’s been hearing said about his teammates after the defeat to St Johnstone last week.

James Forrest talks up Celtic’s ‘unbelievable’ changing room mentality
With a possible treble on the line, Forrest has talked up his Celtic teammates’ winning mentality as the 55th league title closes in.
Forrest told the Daily Record, “It’s unbelievable. It’s nice personally hearing about milestones but I think it’s because I’ve been part of such a really good team over the years, a really good squad, players, staff. It’s been really good to be involved and play a small part in that.
“The changing room has always been good. We’ve got a real good core and the players that come in, they buy into it pretty quickly. When you go to away games and the players see the fans, I think that’s a big one.
“Everyone’s really humble, the way the coaches are as well. If we win a game, if we win a trophy, you can celebrate it but you want to do it again and you want to keep going.”
James Forrest rejects Celtic complacency claims
Let’s be honest; it is just a matter of time before the league title is wrapped up, but Forrest has rejected claims that the Hoops have become complacent in the run-up to the title win.
Forrest continued, “No one’s ever really got complacent or thought they’re the big deal after winning any trophy. I feel as though that’s been the case through the years.
“In football, it can change game to game. If you feel as though you had a good game and start swanning about, I think the fans, players, staff, everyone will bring you back down.
“You need to be like that. You need to keep working hard to get the moments, to lift the trophies and win cups and win leagues.”
With just six games left in the season, Celtic can wrap up the title with a few games to spare. With the Scottish Cup up next, Brendan Rodgers stands on the brink of his third domestic treble as the Hoops boss.
As for Forrest, the Celtic winger could bank his 27th winners medal of his career and one thing is for sure, the 33-year-old will not allow any of his teammates to become complacent as another chapter of Celtic’s illustrious history waits to be written.
