Celtic hero James Forrest is on the verge of earning a testimonial from the club, as he enters his 10th trophy-laden season in the Hoops. However, the reigning Scottish player of the year is refusing to take anything for granted. That includes his place in the Hoops’ starting line-up.

“Being content is good, but I won’t get to the stage where I’m comfortable” Forrest said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“The club is always looking to sign new players and there is always competition.”

The player also commented on the prospect of the testimonial.

“That would be unbelievable. If you’ve been at a club like Celtic for that long, you must be doing something right.”

Will be a key man in the season ahead

Forrest has indeed been doing something right for the Hoops, especially in the last few seasons. His game has gone from strength to strength. He is set to be a key man for the Hoops in the season to come.

His overall attitude is one that should be adopted by the entire squad at Celtic Park. Despite all his success at the club, he is refusing to take anything for granted.

He knows that football can change very quickly, but he refuses to rest on his laurels. If the young players at Celtic in particular pay heed to Forrest’s advice, they can have a successful career with the Hoops.
