Celtic winger James Forrest is still thriving at 33 years of age and is determined to make more history as a one-club man at Parkhead.
While transfer movement in the modern game is at an all-time high, the Scotland international has stayed true to his boyhood side since making his journey into the senior fold circa 2010.
Nearly 15 years on, James Forrest is two trophies away from becoming Celtic’s most-decorated player and could surpass the great Bobby Lennox to top the list if the Bhoys can deliver on the silverware front this term.

With Forrest’s Celtic contract set to expire next summer, the veteran has admitted that he is only focusing on the here and now rather than being drawn into speculation on where his long-term future lies.
Either way, Brendan Rodgers will be grateful for his presence amid a steady return of four assists in 13 matches this season.
Now, the Lennoxtown graduate has opened up on where his head is at, with the possibility of becoming Celtic’s most trophy-laden star visible in the distance.
James Forrest on the possibility of making more Celtic history
Speaking before Celtic take on Dundee in the Scottish Premiership this evening, Forrest has made it clear that team achievements come first despite the possibility of cementing his legendary status by becoming the Bhoys’ most-decorated star ever.
He explained: “I think I’ve said before, the last couple of years, when you get stats and milestones when people tell you after they’ve been done, it’s really good.
“It just shows you’ve been working hard over the years and you’ve got stuff there to show for it. But, we’re still only in October just now, it’s hard to think about that until the end of the season.
“It’s there and I just want to keep going game by game just now and keep helping the team as much as I can. Hopefully, if we keep performing as a team, the accolades come.”
Celtic’s experienced core set an incredible example for others
Setting the benchmark, Forrest isn’t the only one in the Bhoys’ top-ten most decorated players, with Callum McGregor creeping up the list behind his counterpart on 22.
Celtic icons Scott Brown and Nir Bitton also appear further down, illustrating the incredible statistics that have followed the Hoops’ domination of Scottish football throughout the 21st century.
While others have failed to provide a consistent challenge for honours, the likes of Forrest and McGregor have swept up trophy after trophy on their way to cementing their legacies as club legends.
Considering the climate of football in it’s current form, supporters should enjoy every last bit of their long-serving heroes while they are still active.
