This has been a very special year at Celtic for stalwart James Forrest.
The Bhoys sealing their 55th league title was momentous in a couple of ways.
One, it meant drawing level with Rangers on total number of league titles won, adding yet more misery to the blue half of Glasgow’s dire season.
Two, it held very personal significance for James Forrest. That title meant the 33-year-old became the most decorated player in Celtic’s history, moving ahead of Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox.

Having joined the club’s academy aged 12, it’s an extraordinary achievement for the winger.
He now sits at the top of the rankings for Celtic’s most decorated players of all time.
Forrest has been a regular in the team since 2010/11, racking up 523 appearances so far and being in the 100 Club for goals.
He could be on for yet another Glasgow derby win at the weekend, and this is how you can watch the Rangers match.
However, there’s one record that’s at high risk of being lost by the Scot this season, with just a few games to go.
James Forrest on keeping his record of scoring in 16 consecutive seasons going
James Forrest has been a reliable goalscorer for Celtic for approaching two decades now, having scored in every season for 16 years running.
However, despite having played 28 times in the 2024/25 campaign, providing five assists, Forrest is yet to score.

Speaking to Celtic’s official podcast, the winger has opened up on keeping the record going and the support he’s felt from fans and teammates in doing so.
Referring to the title-sealing 5-0 thrashing of Dundee United, he said: “I could even feel it was coming from the players on the park as well. With the scoreline and the way it was going, I could definitely feel that everyone was egging me on to try and score.
“Hopefully, going into the end of the season, I can try and do that.
“I think a few folk have joked when we get a penalty for me to hit it, but I’d hope to score in normal time.”
With league games against Rangers, Hibernian, Aberdeen and St Mirren to come, as well as the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen, he still has time to do it.
How James Forrest reacted to becoming the most decorated player in Celtic’s history
As James Forrest surpassed Bobby Lennox to become the most decorated player in Celtic’s history, you could definitely forgive him for feeling a little emotional.
Callum McGregor gave an insight to The Celtic Way into how the 33-year-old reacted in the changing room afterwards.
He said: “James was quite emotional on Saturday. I think you could tell and see the emotion in him as well.
“He was right to feel like that, as what a momentous occasion for everyone, not just him, to go past so many legends of the club and to be sitting up there on his own with that amount of trophies.”

McGregor continued: “We just shared a hug, and I said to him it was amazing, what an achievement, when you think of so many special players that have played for this club, and you’re now on your own at the top, it’s incredible.
“I saw him being his humble self, and he was just chilling. I didn’t plan it or anything; we’d just seen each other in the changing room, and I just gravitated towards him in that moment.
“I wanted to congratulate him straight away, and then you just get chatting, as much as he is proud, then I’m exactly the same, I’m so proud of him.”
Forrest opened up about the historic moment himself, in an interview with Celtic’s official podcast.
The winger told the podcast: “After the game, I felt a bit emotional.
“Normally, I can hide that quite well, but I think everything – we won the league and everyone was talking about that – it got to me a bit.
“It’s a great achievement, and it shows how successful the club has been since I’ve been here.”
