James Forrest knows a thing or two about winning trophies.

Forrest is Celtic’s most decorated player of all time and will be hoping to add some more silverware to his cabinet this season.

The winger is one of the most experienced heads in the squad but has largely restricted to being an impact sub under Brendan Rodgers.

Winning the Scottish Premiership is important, and the 32-year-old has been getting some inspiration from elsewhere.

James Forrest watches Dundalk become champions in Ireland

While top-flight divisions around the globe pause for the October international break, some still continue.

In Ireland, it’s no different as the second tier of Irish football played host to a huge game.

Dundalk hosted Finn Harps, where a win would see them crowned champions and return to the League of Ireland Premier Division at the first attempt.

A fan shared an image on social media of himself with Forrest, who was at the game to cheer Dundalk on.

James Forrest can use international break to kickstart season

Steve Clarke opted not to call up Forrest for Scotland’s games against Greece and Belarus.

As disappointing as that may be, Celtic will be secretly delighted.

The winger is probably at the stage now where playing every minute of every week can be a struggle.

This brief rest will only benefit the 32-year-old and help him have a greater impact this season.
