James McFadden has admitted that there is one manager that he can’t see coming to Celtic.
The Hoops are stepping up their search for Brendan Rodgers’ replacement and have been linked with a host of names.
Kieran McKenna refused to comment on the job while Jermaine Jenas has tipped Robbie Keane to become the Celtic boss.
Celtic are hoping to get an appointment confirmed sooner rather than later, but McFadden thinks one candidate won’t join.
James McFadden thinks Craig Bellamy won’t become the new Celtic manager
Craig Bellamy is another name who has been tipped as an early favourite to replace Rodgers.
67 Hail Hail revealed that Bellamy hasn’t applied for the Celtic job, and is still seemingly intent on trying to take Wales to the 2026 World Cup.
McFadden appeared on the latest episode of Open Goal, where the topic of the new manager came up.
Bellamy’s name was mentioned but the former Scotland international admitted that he can’t see the former Hoops loanee return to Parkhead.
He said: “He is so passionate with Wales.
“I don’t know but I just watch him when he talks about what he wants from people and how proud he is of being Welsh and being the manager of Wales.
“I don’t see him leaving.”
During his loan spell with the Hoops, Bellamy scored nine goals in 16 games, including a brilliant strike against Rangers in a 2-1 win at Ibrox in 2005 – when Martin O’Neill was managing the Bhoys.
The Wales job is his first as a manager after spells working as an assistant to Vincent Kompany.
