Kelechi Iheanacho has certainly enjoyed a blistering start to his Celtic career.

Two goals and an assist in his first three appearances for Celtic have shown what Iheanacho can offer the Hoops and against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League, the Nigerian was superb.

Iheanacho scored Celtic’s opener in the draw in Belgrade after being brought on for a disappointing Daizen Maeda at half-time.

And what he did just before scoring Celtic’s first goal of the campaign left James McFadden absolutely stunned.

James McFadden notes Kelechi Iheanacho’s ‘incredible’ first touch at Celtic’s goal vs Red Star

Iheanacho gave fans a glimpse of what he can do in Celtic’s win at Partick Thistle after his deft touch opened up space for Sebastian Tounekti to score his first goal for the club.

And what Iheanacho did just before tucking away his Celtic goal last night left McFadden breathless.

McFadden said on the BBC, “First of all, what a first touch it is, he kills it dead and then reverses it into the far corner.

“It comes from Yang being high and wide and Donovan picking the ball up and driving into space.

“The first touch makes it, it’s incredible. A really composed finish, too.”

Kelechi Iheanacho’s impressive Celtic stats vs Red Star Belgrade

Considering Iheanacho barely played any football prior to his move to Celtic in the summer, the Nigerian has made a great start to his Parkhead career.

And after his performance last night, Fotmob rated Iheanacho as one of Celtic’s best players after his 45 minute display terrorised the Serbians.

With Hibs up next for Celtic, fans won’t be surprised if Iheanacho gets the nod to start ahead of Daizen Maeda at the weekend.
