Celtic have enjoyed a brilliant few days after following up their 6-0 victory over Aberdeen with a stunning triumph over RB Leipzig in Champions League action.
Brendan Rodgers has his side in fine fettle heading into their Scottish Premiership clash against Kilmarnock this weekend.
With the international break round the corner, Celtic are top of the league standings, in a promising position to secure Champions League progression and have a Premier Sports Cup final to look forward to next month against Rangers, cementing their early-season credentials.

At Hampden last weekend, many expected a close match between Scotland’s top two amid their identical league records that have left Celtic in front on goal difference.
Nevertheless, the Bhoys thrashed Aberdeen on a day of celebration at the national stadium, leaving the Dons with some soul-searching to do ahead of their clash against Dundee on Saturday.
Now, Jamie McGrath has reacted to Celtic’s unforgiving showing against his side and has shared how their dressing room are feeling after being ruthlessly punished.
Jamie McGrath on Aberdeen being thrashed by Celtic
Fronting up to the defeat, McGrath admitted Aberdeen were a ‘few percent’ off against Celtic that led to them being exposed at Hampden, but insists the result is nothing more than a bump in the road.
He stated [Press & Journal]: “We’ll take a lot of learning from it but of course we’re very disappointed to lose in the manner we did.
“We are disappointed not to bring the fans another trip to a cup final but like the gaffer touched on, it’s a bump in the road. We’ve had a brilliant start to the season so we can’t let this affect us majorly. The manager said there’s a lot to learn from it and we can agree but we weren’t, as a team, at our brilliant best.

“If you’re a few percent off against Celtic, they’ll punish you in a matter of minutes. We have our principles and we’re never going to go away from them and every week we’re adding something to the mix.
“We’re learning constantly. It’s still very early days under the manager and we have to learn quickly. I think we have learned quickly so far. I think we look like a right good team on our day, but we can still obviously improve.
“We’re trying to catch the likes of Celtic and Rangers so yeah, there’ll be blips in the road but hopefully now that’s us for a while.”
Celtic will want to build a Scottish Premiership points gap
By virtue of the fixture schedule, Celtic could find themselves second in the Scottish Premiership by the time they kick off against Kilmarnock on Sunday as Aberdeen take on Dundee a day earlier.
The Dons would move to the summit with a win or draw, but the Bhoys will fancy their chances of taking maximum points at Rugby Park in light of their recent momentum.
Of course, travelling to Ayrshire won’t be straightforward. Nevertheless, Celtic are in a brilliant place, so hopefully, Rodgers’ men can continue their winning run.
