Jeremie Frimpong has disclosed that Diego Laxalt has quickly become one of his mentors at Celtic Park, the Celtic View reports.
Both players are full-backs, and Frimpong has revealed that he has already been asking the AC Milan loanee for tips about how to improve his game.
“I’ve been paying attention”
“I’ve been paying attention to his defending because he never gets beat and I really like that about him. I’ll talk to him and ask him how I should approach a certain defensive situation, and he’ll talk to me. He’s the kind of person you want in the team and someone I look up to” Frimpong said, as quoted by the Celtic View (Volume 56, Issue 16, Page. 22).
That shows how well that Laxalt has done when he has been at Celtic for less than two months, and he has already made a significant impact on Frimpong.
It is interesting that Frimpong is particularly impressed with the defensive side of Laxalt’s game. It would not be a shock to see Frimpong’s defending improve as a result.
Comments will please support
Any Celtic fans reading those comments will be hoping that the Hoops can manage to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent basis. Not only has he performed well for the team, but he is also able to influence a player with a very bright future at the club.
That is an added bonus to the Laxalt signing. He was obviously signed in the first place to provide competition to Greg Taylor. Now he is not only doing that, but providing an inspiration for players to live up to.

If Laxalt can maintain his current form until the end of the season, then he could be one of the best signings of Neil Lennon’s second spell at the club.
Hopefully he enjoys it in Glasgow so much that he wants to make the move permanent. Then it would be up to Celtic to get the deal done.
In other news, it has been confirmed how much Celtic fans will have to pay to watch the game against Hibs on pay per view.
