Jeremy Toljan’s recent struggles at Celtic continued in the game against Dundee. The right-back failed to impose himself on the game, and he was eventually substituted in the second-half.
Toljan might have been only starting the game due to injuries. Mikael Lustig may well have played at right-back, but he had to play in defence in place of Dedryck Boyata.
Didn’t impress

However, Toljan didn’t do anything in the game to show that he should replace Lustig on a permanent basis.
Indeed, it can be argued that Toljan should not feature in the Hoops side again unless there is an injury to Lustig.

Neil Lennon has at least given Toljan a chance. But the player has not really shown enough in recent weeks to show that he deserves to play for the Scottish champions.
Big disappointment

Overall, Toljan might be the biggest disappointment of Celtic’s January signings. He might not have played often for his parent club Borussia Dortmund.
But you would have expected far more from the player. He just hasn’t done enough to show that he should be signed for the Hoops on a permanent basis.
Right-back is a position that Celtic have been looking to improve on for years. Unfortunately, the poor form of Toljan means that the Hoops will have to keep looking for an upgrade on the position in the summer.
