Jermaine Jenas has admitted he was left shocked when Celtic were able to sign one of his teammates.
Jenas never crossed the border to play in Scotland but did represent Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, among others.
In that time he came across several talented players, and some of those were fortunate enough to also play for Celtic.
However, he was left shocked when one of those former teammates ended up coming to Glasgow.

Jermaine Jenas couldn’t believe that Celtic signed Craig Bellamy
Craig Bellamy loved his time at Celtic and joined at a time when his stock was seemingly on the rise.
The current Wales manager signed for the Hoops on loan in January 2005 and scored nine goals in 15 games before returning to the North East.
Bellamy was sent to Parkhead by then-Newcastle manager Graeme Souness and Jenas, who was at St James’ Park at the time, couldn’t understand why he allowed the forward to go.
Speaking to Adebayo Akinfenwa on the Beast Mode On podcast, he said: “I could feel in a weird way like he (Graeme Souness) shipped Craig Bellamy off to Celtic.
“He got rid of Lauren Robert and I was just like, what’s happening to our team? You know, there were there were things happening that I just wasn’t convinced by.”
Craig Bellamy could have stayed at Celtic permanently
Sadly, Celtic only managed to get six months of Bellamy before he returned to Newcastle.
There were hopes that they could extend his stay, with Martin O’Neill revealing that there was an option to buy him during his unveiling.
He told Sky Sports: “I’m absolutely ecstatic to have signed Craig until the end of the season.
“I must also say a big thank you to Newcastle United for allowing us to have that offer on the table to be taken up.
“We do have an option to sign Craig on a more permanent basis at the end of the season.”
