Celtic’s win over Hibs shows that Brendan Rodgers has his team fully focused on the rest of the league season.

With just Aberdeen and St Mirren to face, Celtic’s next two fixtures will, hopefully, set the team up for the season finale at Hampden.

Celtic will play Jimmy Thelin’s side in their quest to win a treble and their recent form shows that there is a reason Rodgers’ side are heavy favourites heading into the Scottish Cup final showpiece on the 24th of May.

Aberdeen, however, have seen their preparations take a big dent after losing 4-0 to Rangers at the weekend and Thelin has fired a warning to his team ahead of facing Celtic tomorrow night.

Jimmy Thelin fires warning to Aberdeen ahead of Pittodrie Celtic clash

Thelin was smarting after watching his side collapse inside Ibrox when he was asked by the BBC touchline journalist if he had a message to his Aberdeen players ahead of facing Celtic tomorrow night.

Thelin told BBC Radio Sportsound [35m 39s], “I think if you are working with me as a manager, and my team and the players, that’s what you have to do when you get setbacks in football.

“In life, it’s another opportunity on Wednesday. You can’t hide.

“You have to show up and do it again and do better.”

Celtic have beaten Aberdeen in three of their last four meetings this season and with another two fixtures left to play, Hoops fans will be hoping that tomorrow night will lay a marker down for the big cup final Hampden fixture.

BBC man ‘concerned’ for Aberdeen ahead of Celtic Scottish Cup final

And Thelin should be worried, that’s according to BBC pundit Steven Thompson. The Aberdeen boss will be hoping to avoid another heavy defeat ahead of the Scottish Cup final in the next two weeks.

However, Thompson reckons that the Pittodrie club’s players and supporters should also be ‘concerned’ ahead of the cup final.

Thompson said [19m], “It’d be very easy for a Celtic player to drop their levels considering they’ve won the league and just coast a wee bit towards the end of the season. It’s easily done, but they were right at it.

“And if I was an Aberdeen player or supporter, I’d be concerned by that because they’re not taking their eye off the ball at all.

“So yeah, I mean, it’s a difficult task. It’s always going to be a really difficult task for Aberdeen this Cup final, but they’re making it even more difficult for themselves.”

Celtic will be looking to use the final two games to rest some key players before the cup final so it will be interesting to which team Rodgers will go with at Pittodrie tomorrow night.
