Joe Hart, Nir Bitton and Stephen Welsh have all been left just as buzzing as the Celtic support after the club agreed on a permanent transfer for Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The American international has signed a four-year contract after the conclusion of his season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, committing his long-term future to the Bhoys.

And Hart, who formed a terrific defensive unit with Carter-Vickers, led the congratulations on Instagram, responding to the club’s official announcement with the message: “Awesome news!”

Like Carter-Vickers, Hart joined the club from Spurs and hasn’t looked back, re-invigorating his career and finding the love of the Celtic support.

The experienced English goalkeeper is no doubt relishing the opportunity to continue working with the 24-year-old. This consistency and these relationships can help build Celtic into an even better defensive unit next term.

Carter-Vickers specifically referenced the unity of this squad in his message to the Celtic support following his signing. This camaraderie at the Bhoys is real and clearly an influence on players considering their future.

Celtic mean business this summer and more players are no doubt on the way over the coming weeks. Left-back and centre-back appear to be priorities for the club.

If they turn out to be as successful as the majority of Ange Postecoglou’s other signings at Celtic, we’re in for a treat.

With the window only opening today, the club have already delivered on one of the support’s big priorities. The rest of Scottish football should be concerned.
